These steps outline the process of ordering and receiving a pet portrait.

The first step is to send some high-quality photographs of your pet to me at info@animalartbykim.co.uk
The more detail the better as this allows me to recreate the individual characteristics that make your pet unique. Photographs taken in good lighting, especially in natural light, with facial fur and features in sharp focus are best.
. . .
If you have a beloved pet that has passed away and your choice of photos is limited, I may still be able to create a beautiful portrait for you. Just send over some of your favourite pictures.

You can view the standard sizes and prices that I offer here. You can also request smaller or larger portraits.
The medium will depend on whether you want a colour or a black and white portrait. For colour portraits I use professional quality colouring pencils. Black and white portraits are drawn in graphite.
For both colouring pencil and graphite, I work on a smooth-surfaced, archival Bristol board paper which allows me to capture a high level of fine detail.
If you are unsure of which medium to choose, I will be happy to make a recommendation based on your photographs and your pet’s physical characteristics.

Once you have decided on a photograph and selected the size and medium, I will require a deposit of 20%.
Many hours of work go into each portrait, which means it takes about one month from when the deposit is paid until the portrait is complete. I will send you updates about your piece during this time.
The due date is agreed upon before work begins and this is the date that I will update you with the completed portrait. You must also factor in delivery time before booking if the portrait is required for a specific date.

When you have received an update of the completed portrait and you are happy with the work, the remaining payment is then due and can be paid via PayPal or bank transfer. You can also pay with cash if collecting in person.
Once payment is received, your portrait will be securely packaged to the highest standard, ensuring it well protected as it makes its way to you.
I will then send your portrait, using tracked delivery within the UK and Ireland, or internationally, so you are able to see where your portrait is during transit.
